This Friday (December 4th) Rick Ross will release his 8th studio album Black Market. The album includes features from Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Nas, Future and more. However, Ross's new album is different in that it does not feature any contributions from any Maybach Music Group artists. Rick Ross stopped by Hot 97 to talk about absence of artists from his imprint on Black Market, as well as his experiences ghostwriting for notable acts such as Dr. Dre.

According to AllHipHop, Ross explained the lack of collaboration with MMG artists on Black Market, saying, "We're actually in the middle of recording Self Made 4 that we're gonna really, really make big and special. It's really going to be built around the chemistry of all the artists that's on the team."

As we previously reported, Ross has recently claimed to be one of the biggest ghostwriters in the game. Ross has said he does not view the employment of a ghostwriter as a deficit, and believes that certain rappers are not necessarily expected to write all of their own verses. Ross told Ebro In The Morning, "I was in the studio when me, Dr. Dre and Jay Z did '3 Kings.' I was in the studio with Dre. I actually did five records with Dre in maybe two hours. I was like, 'Dre, this is the beat I want for me right here.' I went over into another room, wrote my verse, wrote Dre's verse, and sent what I had maybe an hour later to Jay Z. Jay always do his thing."

Ross also sought to downplay the alleged tension between Maybach Music artists Wale and Meek Mill. However, despite Ross's objections, it appears the two are engaged in a feud, with Mill accusing Wale of trying to steal his style.
